List of Unpublished Links

When editing a draft or working copy, specifically with inserting internal or external links and images in the body text of a content type such as Page, Event, or News Item, it can be easy to forget to publish the links and images in addition to publishing the draft.  Visitors who can see the published content will not be able to view images and access links unless those are also published.

If a content contains links to unpublished items, users with edit permissions will see the warning Contains Unpublished Links in the toolbar.

Unpublished Links Warning

The warning message directs to the List of Unpublished Links that includes all unpublished links in their current state (e.g., draft, pending review) below the following message:

"This page contains links to content that is not or will not be viewable to all users when it is published. Be sure to publish all relevant linked content when this page is published to ensure users have access to this page and its links."

To publish the unpublished links:

  1. Click the Contains Unpublished Links warning message on the toolbar.
  2. Click any link in the List of Unpublished Links to open that item in a new tab.
  3. Select State > Publish from the toolbar, or contact a Reviewer or Site Administrator if you do not have permission to publish the content.

This feature is available on the following content types because they have the WYSIWYG editor used to insert links and images:  Page, Event, and News Item.
