Links

Links can be added to folders and group spaces of a portal as stand-alone items.  They provide users references to internal contents of a portal or to external websites.

To add a link:

  1. Select Add new > Link from the toolbar.
  2. Enter the Title (required) and Summary (optional description) for the link.
  3. Select Internal (link to another content within the portal) or External (link to another website) link type.  The default type is External.
    • For an External link, enter or copy and paste the full URL into the External URL box.
    • For an Internal link, use the Search or Browse button to navigate to and select the appropriate item within the portal.  For additional information on navigating within the Search box, see Form Field for Referencing Content.  Click the Display internal link as page checkbox to display the content of the referenced item instead of the link address.  This is useful for presenting the same content in multiple locations on a site. 
  4. Click Save when finished.

If a link points to an internal content that gets deleted, the stand-alone link is also deleted.
